Each EU member state has its own national rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, it is worth noting that <strong>purchased periods are recorded in your career statement<\/strong> and are therefore recognized abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Retroactive payments for training periods in Germany<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Individuals who voluntarily pay pension contributions <strong>increase their pension rights<\/strong> and may be able to retire earlier in certain circumstances, provided that minimum insurance periods are met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-eures-plugin-accordion-block\"><div class=\"accordion-top\"><p class=\"accordion-title\">Conditions<\/p><svg viewBox=\"0 0 24 24\" stroke-width=\"1.5\" fill=\"none\" xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\" class=\"accordion-top__icon\"><path d=\"M3 12L21 12M21 12L12.5 3.5M21 12L12.5 20.5\" stroke-width=\"1.5\" stroke-linecap=\"round\" stroke-linejoin=\"round\"><\/path><\/svg><\/div><div class=\"accordion-content\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Conditions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The application can only be submitted <strong>up to the age of 45<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Payments can be made in <strong>multiple installments<\/strong> over a maximum period of 5 years.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The cost is <strong>\u20ac1,320.60 in 2025<\/strong>, which is <strong>\u20ac83.70 per month<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-eures-plugin-accordion-block\"><div class=\"accordion-top\"><p class=\"accordion-title\">Eligible Periods<\/p><svg viewBox=\"0 0 24 24\" stroke-width=\"1.5\" fill=\"none\" xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\" class=\"accordion-top__icon\"><path d=\"M3 12L21 12M21 12L12.5 3.5M21 12L12.5 20.5\" stroke-width=\"1.5\" stroke-linecap=\"round\" stroke-linejoin=\"round\"><\/path><\/svg><\/div><div class=\"accordion-content\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Study periods after the age of 16 that are <strong>not already counted as contributory periods<\/strong> can be covered by retroactive payments. These periods must <strong>not have been covered by previous contributions<\/strong>. They include, in particular, studies at school, technical high school, or university, vocational training between the ages of 16 and 17, as well as enrollment periods following the completion of a degree.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-eures-plugin-accordion-block\"><div class=\"accordion-top\"><p class=\"accordion-title\">How to Apply<\/p><svg viewBox=\"0 0 24 24\" stroke-width=\"1.5\" fill=\"none\" xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\" class=\"accordion-top__icon\"><path d=\"M3 12L21 12M21 12L12.5 3.5M21 12L12.5 20.5\" stroke-width=\"1.5\" stroke-linecap=\"round\" stroke-linejoin=\"round\"><\/path><\/svg><\/div><div class=\"accordion-content\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anyone who, with the help of their pension advisor, believes that a retroactive payment is justified must <strong>submit a request<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To do so, use <strong>form V0080<\/strong>, which can be downloaded here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.deutsche-rentenversicherung.de\/DRV\/EN\/Home\/home_node.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Download Form V0080<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The form can be <strong>submitted online or by mail<\/strong> to the Deutsche Rentenversicherung.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Buying Additional Pension Credits involves voluntarily paying contributions for periods during which you did not contribute, so that these periods are included in the calculation of your pension.
